It's all about Marketing - Part 3

The art of Marketing usually gets a bad rap, and these things dont help! But, it is obviously good news for 'The Hoff' who is on a roll with his awareness campaigns these days. On a roll.....

.... and apparently on a rope swing about to be covered in Cola!
I am told this is an Ad campaign in Australia which uses the tag line 'Dare for More'. It may state that, but it also begs the question.... What the hell was Pepsi thinking?

Airline Industry gone bad

If you have travelled by airplane recently, you will have noticed how dire the whole travel situation seems to be these days. Checking in still seems to be an ordeal, with some airline staff (i.e. United) playing the role of Nazi commandant when it comes to the weight restrictions. I travelled a few weeks ago and they wouldnt let me check my bag in because it was 0.6 lbs overweight. The woman sent me away to a corner to remove the felonious extra pair of pants before she would allow me to check in.

When you finally get on the flight, long gone are the days where you would get a free meal and a choice of what you wanted. I know the meal was never going to receive a Michelin star, but now, if you didn't have the foresight to eat before you got on the plane you are forced to purchase a cardboard box with a selection of 'food' inside. Once you look inside, you quickly realise that the cardboard box itself would be more appetising.

If you are lucky enough to get on a flight these days with personal TV screens in the back of the seats, you will probably be able to fight the monotony of travel, or if you are one of the really lucky ones, you will sleep the whole way. If not, you are reliant on the in-flight magazines to keep you occupied. And I think although they didn't do this intentionally, Delta may be on to something. Seems their in-flight magazines have subversive humour included. Now next time they should probably avoid the derogatory terminology on someone's sexuality, but at least they are trying to keep us entertained on the flight. Although this author seems to be perturbed by the whole experience, I have to say, if I'd have read this on my flight, I would have been chuckling away until we touched down.
